For centuries, fired clay has been the only material
capable to resist to high temperatures.
For centuries, this earth has been chosen, studied, optimised,
elaborated… but no one found a better material.
The crucible, an essential part in the dental
prosthesis elaborating process.
The process of creating a dental prosthesis requires
the use of a crucible.

There are two main types of crucibles:
Crucibles for flame melting:
This type of first generation crucible is very resistant and gives very
good results. It is now less popular, but is still used by many customers.
Crucibles for induction casting machine:
This newer type of crucible is more widely used. Each machine has its
own customised crucible. Whatever its quality, this crucible is fragile and
can withstand less casting cycles than the flame melting type. Its inevitable
but unpredictable failure has major consequences that all laboratories fear. |

The Duo System by Refracto: a significant innovationin
the casting process
Either single or double layer, no crucible can
ensure a 100% successful casting.
An innovation to eliminate the uncertainty of casting: the DUO
SYSTEM: a Holder crucible containing a ceramic Insert in which
the alloys is melted…
A simple idea, but also difficult to set up when you have to respect
the dimensions and volumes of the tube.
